MUN

09/12/25, 09:00

Our annual flagship Model United Nations conference

GYLS seeks to reimagine MUN by ensuring that its conference is part of a global conversation for the
UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Featuring UN committees that discuss various pertinent
global challenges, the conference provides youths with the opportunity to act as delegates to address
such issues through policy and diplomatic means. Their policy proposals and ideas eventually
culminate in a Youth Declaration which outlines the youth’s aspirations for the future and serves as a
call to action for youths to mobilise for change. As GYLS is a Member Organisation of the

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) (Youth), these Youth Declarations contribute to
the wider effort towards the UN SDGs, thereby translating youth-driven debate into real-world
impact.

The 2025 iteration was our biggest conference yet as GYLS welcomed a total of 500 youth delegates
across Singapore to engage in global civic conversations. Delegates were treated to a morning of
insightful speeches and fireside sharings by our guests-of-honour: Ms Foo Chi Hsia, Deputy Secretary
(Southeast Asia & ASEAN), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore, Ms Lin Suling, Opinion Editor,
The Straits Times and Dr Kumar Ramakrishna, Dean of the S. Rajaratnam School of International
Studies.
